Bristol Zoo is one of the oldest Zoos in Britain and maybe the smallest one with only 5 ha. So what to do when you have that amount of limited space? Right, skip all the big animals and focus on the smaller species. That is what the guys over there did and with an amazing success. So for elephants and rhinos you are definitely at the wrong place here, but there are so many small animals to give the zoo an mature look.
Though they kept the lions and the gorillas and added some nice Agile gibbon islands and a lot of marmosets, but the big grazers are all moved to a large terrain outside Bristol, the way like Antwerp Zoo and Planckendael and London Zoo and Whipsnade.
