Paignton Zoo is a private owned Zoo of about 80 acres (32 ha) with a large variety of 2000 animals representing almost 300 species. It is beautifully situated in a rich vegetation but that is not surprising for its a botanic garden. The big cats are held in vast enclosures, yet to me with a lack of imagination. The big apes are kept on an island structured enclosure, which of course the the way to keep these guys but the primate house seems a little dark and depressing to me.

They have a really large variety of primates, but again the outdoor enclosures are large but that about it and they seem  the backyards nicely situated  one beside the other like a suburb. Yet overall its a nice garden.
