Blackpool Zoo is founded in 1972, on an in fact old airfield from the 2e ww, eventually as a dinosaur safari park, but finally being altered into a zoological garden, whith at the moment a respectable amount of 1350 animals .

In 2018 the zoo opened its brandnew and prestigeous elephant house and which is in fact a top of the bill way of keeping the large animals. Its a complete new way of thinking, not from mens point of view but more from the elephants point of view.

They are rebuilding and modernising the vareous fascilities on a large scale.
